Correct Your Smile

Do you suffer from missing teeth? Dr. Schold and Dr. Smars use dental bridges to replace missing teeth and restore the function and appearance of your smile.

True to its name, a dental bridge is literally used to bridge a gap created by an absent tooth or teeth.

A dental bridge works by using natural teeth or dental implants on either side of a missing tooth. We use these teeth as anchors for your dental bridge. They serve as the support for the false tooth or teeth we place between them.

If you are missing teeth, a dental bridge could be a great solution.

How Do Our Doctors Perform Dental Bridges?

To begin fitting a dental bridge at our office, Dr. Schold or Dr. Smars will prepare dental crowns designed to fit over your anchor teeth. Preparing your dental  crowns can include shaping your anchor teeth to make sure your crowns are ready to securely fit over your abutment teeth.

Next, our dental staff will take impressions of your mouth to help our dental lab design your permanent bridge. Typically, we will give you a temporary bridge to wear while your permanent dental bridge is being made. This dental bridge will be removed during your final visit when we cement your permanent one in place.

Are Dental Bridges Hard to Care For?

It is important to floss daily when you have a dental bridge, as food particles can collect between your anchor teeth. However, dental bridges take the same amount of care as regular teeth require.
