Feel Better About Your Smile in Chanhassen
At Bluff Creek Dental in Chanhassen, our professional teeth whitening treatments make use of high-concentration bleaching gels that are not available over the counter. That’s right! Our whitening is on a whole different level than what you can find in a store.
Feel Better About Your Smile
When you schedule a dental appointment to whiten your teeth at our dental office, you’re choosing a safe and very effective way to brighten your smile. It’s also, perhaps, the most economical cosmetic dental procedure we have available.
When Dr. Schold or Dr. Smars supervises your whitening treatment, they will protect your gums and tooth-root surfaces that can become sensitive to this type of dental treatment and make sure your teeth are able to get as white as possible.
Our Professional Teeth Whitening Methods
Having an oral exam before you begin any whitening process is an important step to make sure your tooth discoloration is not the result of a dental condition. If so, any amount of whitening won’t be able to change the color.
We use professional, high-concentration bleaching gels that are not available over the counter. The results from this dental procedure are therefore more dramatic than what a store-bought option can provide.
Teeth Whitening Options at Bluff Creek Dental:
- In-Office Tooth Whitening — Dental treatment supervised by our doctors at Bluff Creek Dental will offer the fastest results. After protecting your gums and tooth-root surfaces, we use a retractor to hold your lips and cheeks away from your teeth. We then apply a professional-strength hydrogen peroxide gel. This dental treatment only takes about an hour and when complete, your results will be obvious and immediate.
- Take-Home Whitening — This is another effective way to whiten your teeth, though several weeks may be needed to achieve your desired level of whiteness. A mold of your teeth will be taken and then two custom mouth trays will be made for you. Simply fill the dental trays with our whitening gel and position the trays over your teeth for about an hour at a time.
If you have any questions about which whitening method would be best for you, talk to our dental staff first and please keep in mind the risk involved in having whitening solutions applied by untrained personnel in places like shopping malls.
How to Keep Your Smile White
Whitening results will vary from person to person, however most people can expect their smile to stay at their whitest for up to two years, sometimes longer.
There are lots of things you can do to make sure your whitening treatment will last as long as possible. Avoid foods and beverages that stain, including red wine, tea and coffee. If you smoke, use your newly whitened teeth as an impetus to quit! Most importantly, keep up with regularly scheduling professional dental cleanings at Bluff Creek Dental so our dental staff can help with minor touch-ups every so often. When you do that, we can help you keep your smile bright and beautiful for years.
